What is pcodedmp

Macros written in VBA (Visual Basic for Applications; the macro programming language used in Microsoft Office) exist in three different executable forms, each of which can be what is actually executed at run time, depending on the circumstances p-code and execodes. Since most of the time it is the p-code that determines what exactly a macro would do (even if neither source code, nor execodes are present), pcodedmp is a Python library and command line tool to display it.

We can use yum or dnf to install pcodedmp on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install pcodedmp.

Install pcodedmp on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install pcodedmp using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install pcodedmp

Install pcodedmp on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install pcodedmp using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install pcodedmp

How To Uninstall pcodedmp on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the pcodedmp package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove pcodedmp
