How To Install pcl-tools on Kali Linux

What is pcl-tools
pcl-tools is:
The Point Cloud Library (PCL) is a standalone, large scale, open project for 2D/3D image and point cloud processing.
The PCL framework contains numerous state-of-the art algorithms including filtering, feature estimation, surface reconstruction, registration, model fitting and segmentation.
This package gathers tools bundled with PCL to process point clouds.
There are three methods to install pcl-tools
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pcl-tools Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pcl-tools
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pcl-tools
Install pcl-tools Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install pcl-tools
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pcl-tools
Install pcl-tools Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install pcl-tools
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pcl-tools
How To Uninstall pcl-tools on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the pcl-tools
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pcl-tools
Uninstall pcl-tools And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pcl-tools
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pcl-tools
Remove pcl-tools Configurations and Data
To remove pcl-tools
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pcl-tools
Remove pcl-tools configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pcl-tools
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
