What is pcb-gtk

PCB is an interactive printed circuit board editor for the X11 window system. PCB includes a rats nest feature, design rule checking, and can provide industry standard RS-274-X (Gerber), NC drill, and centroid data (X-Y data) output for use in the board fabrication and assembly process. PCB offers high end features such as an autorouter and trace optimizer which can tremendously reduce layout time.

This package contains the GTK+ user-interface for pcb.

There are three methods to install pcb-gtk on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install pcb-gtk Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install pcb-gtk using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install pcb-gtk

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install pcb-gtk using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install pcb-gtk

Install pcb-gtk Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install pcb-gtk using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install pcb-gtk
