How To Install pax-utils on Ubuntu 20.04

What is pax-utils
pax-utils is:
This is a small set of various PaX aware and related utilities for ELF binaries. It can check ELF binary files and running processes for issues that might be relevant when using ELF binaries along with PaX, such as non-PIC code or executable stack and heap.
This package installs: dumpelf, lddtree, pspax, scanelf, scanmacho and symtree.
There are three methods to install pax-utils on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pax-utils Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pax-utils using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pax-utils
Install pax-utils Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install pax-utils using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pax-utils
Install pax-utils Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install pax-utils using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pax-utils
How To Uninstall pax-utils on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the pax-utils package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pax-utils
Uninstall pax-utils And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pax-utils and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pax-utils
Remove pax-utils Configurations and Data
To remove pax-utils configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pax-utils
Remove pax-utils configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pax-utils configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pax-utils
