This is a small set of various PaX aware and related utilities for ELF binaries. It can check ELF binary files and running processes for issues that might be relevant when using ELF binaries along with PaX, such as non-PIC code or executable stack and heap.

There are three methods to install pax-utils on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install pax-utils Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install pax-utils using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install pax-utils

Install pax-utils Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install pax-utils using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install pax-utils

Install pax-utils Using aptitude
