ParaView runs on distributed and shared memory parallel as well as single processor systems and has been successfully tested on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and various Unix workstations, clusters and supercomputers. Under the hood, ParaView uses the Visualization Toolkit as the data processing and rendering engine and has a user interface written using Qt.

Install paraview Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install paraview using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install paraview

How To Uninstall paraview on Ubuntu 18.04

To uninstall only the paraview package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove paraview

Uninstall paraview And Its Dependencies

To uninstall paraview and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove paraview

Remove paraview Configurations and Data

To remove paraview configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge paraview

Remove paraview configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove paraview configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge paraview
