What is paraview-python
paraview-python is:
ParaView is an open-source, multi-platform application designed to visualize data sets of size varying from small to very large. The goals of the ParaView project include the following:
* Develop an open-source, multi-platform visualization application.
* Support distributed computation models to process large data sets.
* Create an open, flexible, and intuitive user interface.
* Develop an extensible architecture based on open standards.
ParaView runs on distributed and shared memory parallel as well as single processor systems and has been successfully tested on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and various Unix workstations, clusters and supercomputers. Under the hood, ParaView uses the Visualization Toolkit as the data processing and rendering engine and has a user interface written using Qt. Enables python support.
There are three methods to install paraview-python
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install paraview-python Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install paraview-python
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install paraview-python
Install paraview-python Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install paraview-python
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install paraview-python
Install paraview-python Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install paraview-python
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install paraview-python
How To Uninstall paraview-python on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the paraview-python
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove paraview-python
Uninstall paraview-python And Its Dependencies
To uninstall paraview-python
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove paraview-python
Remove paraview-python Configurations and Data
To remove paraview-python
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge paraview-python
Remove paraview-python configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove paraview-python
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge paraview-python
