How To Install pads on Ubuntu 18.04

on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is pads
pads is:
Pads is a signature based detection engine used to passively detect network assets. It can determine which systems are alive in the network as well as the services they make use of. It is designed to complement IDS technology by providing context to IDS alerts. Unlike other tools, like nmap, it will not generate any network traffic which makes it useful to run both on network capture files and promiscuous mode interfaces.
There are three methods to install pads
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pads Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pads
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pads

How To Uninstall pads on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the pads

sudo apt-get -y autoremove pads
