How To Install packeth on Debian 9

In this tutorial we learn how to install packeth
on Debian 9.
What is packeth
packeth is:
packeth is a GUI packet generator tool for Ethernet. It allows you to create and send any possible packet or sequence of packets via Ethernet. It also supports the PCAP format, so you can load packets from any other program (i.e. wireshark).
You can create and send any Ethernet packet. The supported protocols are: Ethernet II, Ethernet 802.3, 802.1q, QinQ, ARP, IPv4, UDP, TCP, ICMP, IGMP, RTP.
There are three methods to install packeth
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install packeth Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install packeth
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install packeth
