How To Install owl on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install owl on Kali Linux.
What is owl
owl is:
This package contains an open implementation of the Apple Wireless Direct Link (AWDL) ad hoc protocol for Linux and macOS written in C and part of the Open Wireless Link project.
OWL runs in user space and makes use of Linux??s Netlink API for Wi-Fi specific operations such as channel switching and to integrate itself in the Linux networking stack by providing a virtual network interface such that existing IPv6-capable programs can use AWDL without modification.
There are three methods to install owl on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install owl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install owl using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install owlInstall owl Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install owl using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install owlInstall owl Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the owl package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove owlUninstall owl And Its Dependencies
To uninstall owl and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove owlRemove owl Configurations and Data
To remove owl configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge owlRemove owl configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
