How To Install orthanc-dev on Debian 12

What is orthanc-dev
orthanc-dev is:
Orthanc aims at providing a simple, yet powerful DICOM server for medical imaging. Orthanc can turn any computer running Windows or Linux into a Vendor Neutral Archive (in other words, a mini-PACS system). Its architecture is lightweight, meaning that no complex database administration is required, nor the installation of third-party dependencies.
This package includes the header files to develop C/C++ plugins for Orthanc.
There are three methods to install orthanc-dev on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install orthanc-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install orthanc-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install orthanc-dev
Install orthanc-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install orthanc-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install orthanc-dev
Install orthanc-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install orthanc-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install orthanc-dev
How To Uninstall orthanc-dev on Debian 12
To uninstall only the orthanc-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove orthanc-dev
Uninstall orthanc-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall orthanc-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove orthanc-dev
Remove orthanc-dev Configurations and Data
To remove orthanc-dev configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge orthanc-dev
