What is orangefs
OrangeFS (formerly PVFS2) is a high-performance parallel network file system designed for use on high performance computing systems. It provides very high performance access to disk storage for parallel applications. It is accessible through a variety of interfaces, including the native OrangeFS library, the kernel, FUSE, and MPI-IO.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install orangefs
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install orangefs.
Install orangefs on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install orangefs
using yum
by running the following command:

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
