How To Install opl3-soundfont on Ubuntu 18.04

What is opl3-soundfont
opl3-soundfont is:
This package provides a soundfont (sf2) that can be used by FluidSynth, Timidity and WildMidi to play MIDI (and MIDI-like files) using the samples created by the OPL3 (SB16/YM262) chip. This also allows applications like DOSBox, ZDoom and others to play back MIDI without having to emulate the OPL3, which can be costly in terms of CPU usage to emulate accurately.
This package will be installed into /usr/share/sounds/sf2/.
There are three methods to install opl3-soundfont on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install opl3-soundfont Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install opl3-soundfont using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install opl3-soundfont

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install opl3-soundfont using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install opl3-soundfont
Install opl3-soundfont Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install opl3-soundfont using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install opl3-soundfont
How To Uninstall opl3-soundfont on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the opl3-soundfont package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove opl3-soundfont
Uninstall opl3-soundfont And Its Dependencies
To uninstall opl3-soundfont and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove opl3-soundfont
Remove opl3-soundfont Configurations and Data
To remove opl3-soundfont configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge opl3-soundfont
Remove opl3-soundfont configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove opl3-soundfont configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge opl3-soundfont
