What is oping

oping is:

oping uses ICMP packages (better known as “ping packets”) to test the reachability of network hosts. It supports pinging multiple hosts in parallel using IPv4 and/or IPv6 transparently.

This package contains two command line applications: “oping” is a replacement for tools like ping(1), ping6(1) and fping(1). “noping” is an ncurses-based tool which displays statistics while pinging and highlights aberrant round-trip times.

There are three methods to install oping on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install oping Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install oping using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install oping

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install oping using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install oping

Install oping Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
