How To Install openvswitch-switch-dpdk on Kali Linux

What is openvswitch-switch-dpdk
openvswitch-switch-dpdk is:
Open vSwitch is a production quality, multilayer, software-based, Ethernet virtual switch. It is designed to enable massive network automation through programmatic extension, while still supporting standard management interfaces and protocols (e.g. NetFlow, IPFIX, sFlow, SPAN, RSPAN, CLI, LACP, 802.1ag). In addition, it is designed to support distribution across multiple physical servers similar to VMware’s vNetwork distributed vswitch or Cisco’s Nexus 1000V.
openvswitch-switch provides the userspace components and utilities for the Open vSwitch kernel-based switch.
DPDK is a set of libraries for fast packet processing. Applications run in user-space and communicate directly with dedicated network interfaces.
This package provides a DPDK enabled implementation of the ovs-vswitchd binary.
There are three methods to install openvswitch-switch-dpdk on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install openvswitch-switch-dpdk Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install openvswitch-switch-dpdk using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install openvswitch-switch-dpdkInstall openvswitch-switch-dpdk Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install openvswitch-switch-dpdk using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install openvswitch-switch-dpdkInstall openvswitch-switch-dpdk Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install openvswitch-switch-dpdk using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the openvswitch-switch-dpdk package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove openvswitch-switch-dpdkUninstall openvswitch-switch-dpdk And Its Dependencies
To uninstall openvswitch-switch-dpdk and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove openvswitch-switch-dpdkRemove openvswitch-switch-dpdk Configurations and Data
To remove openvswitch-switch-dpdk configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge openvswitch-switch-dpdkRemove openvswitch-switch-dpdk configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove openvswitch-switch-dpdk configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge openvswitch-switch-dpdkDependencies
