What is openvswitch-pki

openvswitch-pki is:

Open vSwitch is a production quality, multilayer, software-based, Ethernet virtual switch. It is designed to enable massive network automation through programmatic extension, while still supporting standard management interfaces and protocols (e.g. NetFlow, IPFIX, sFlow, SPAN, RSPAN, CLI, LACP, 802.1ag). In addition, it is designed to support distribution across multiple physical servers similar to VMware’s vNetwork distributed vswitch or Cisco’s Nexus 1000V.

openvswitch-pki provides PKI (public key infrastructure) support for Open vSwitch switches and controllers, reducing the risk of man-in-the-middle attacks on the Open vSwitch network infrastructure.

There are three methods to install openvswitch-pki on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install openvswitch-pki Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install openvswitch-pki using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install openvswitch-pki

Install openvswitch-pki Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install openvswitch-pki using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install openvswitch-pki

Install openvswitch-pki Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install openvswitch-pki using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install openvswitch-pki

How To Uninstall openvswitch-pki on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the openvswitch-pki package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove openvswitch-pki

Uninstall openvswitch-pki And Its Dependencies

To uninstall openvswitch-pki and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove openvswitch-pki

Remove openvswitch-pki Configurations and Data

To remove openvswitch-pki configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge openvswitch-pki

Remove openvswitch-pki configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove openvswitch-pki configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
