How To Install openvas-scanner on Kali Linux

The Open Vulnerability Assessment System is a modular security auditing tool, used for testing remote systems for vulnerabilities that should be fixed.
It is made up of two parts: a scan server, and a client. The scanner/daemon, openvassd, is in charge of the attacks, whereas the client, gvm-tools, provides an X11/GTK+ user interface.
This package provides the scanner.
There are three methods to install openvas-scanner
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get

and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install openvas-scanner Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install openvas-scanner
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install openvas-scanner
Install openvas-scanner Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install openvas-scanner
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install openvas-scanner
Install openvas-scanner Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install openvas-scanner
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install openvas-scanner
How To Uninstall openvas-scanner on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the openvas-scanner
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove openvas-scanner
Uninstall openvas-scanner And Its Dependencies
To uninstall openvas-scanner
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove openvas-scanner
Remove openvas-scanner Configurations and Data
To remove openvas-scanner
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge openvas-scanner
Remove openvas-scanner configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove openvas-scanner
