How To Install opensm on CentOS 7
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install opensm
on CentOS 7.
What is opensm
OpenSM is the OpenIB project’s Subnet Manager for Infiniband networks. The subnet manager is run as a system daemon on one of the machines in the infiniband fabric to manage the fabric’s routing state. This package also contains various tools for diagnosing and testing Infiniband networks that can be used from any machine and do not need to be run on a machine running the opensm daemon.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install opensm
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install opensm.
Install opensm on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install opensm
using yum
by running the following command:
Install opensm on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
