In this tutorial we learn how to install opensips-pua_usrloc on CentOS 7.

What is opensips-pua_usrloc

This module is the connector between usrloc and pua modules. It creates the environment to send PUBLISH requests for user location records, on specific events (e.g., when new record is added in usrloc, a PUBLISH with status open (online) is issued; when expires, it sends closed (offline)). Using this module, phones which have no support for presence can be seen as online/offline.

We can use yum or dnf to install opensips-pua_usrloc on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install opensips-pua_usrloc.

Install opensips-pua_usrloc on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install opensips-pua_usrloc using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install opensips-pua_usrloc

Install opensips-pua_usrloc on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install opensips-pua_usrloc using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install opensips-pua_usrloc

How To Uninstall opensips-pua_usrloc on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the opensips-pua_usrloc package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove opensips-pua_usrloc
