How To Install opensaml-tools on Ubuntu 22.04

opensaml-tools is:
OpenSAML is an open source implementation of the OASIS Security Assertion Markup Language Specification. It contains a set of open source C++ classes that support the SAML 1.0, 1.1, and 2.0 specifications.
This package contains samlsign, a command-line tool for signing and verifying SAML assertions.
There are three methods to install opensaml-tools on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install opensaml-tools Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install opensaml-tools using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install opensaml-tools

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install opensaml-tools using apt by running the following command:

Install opensaml-tools Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install opensaml-tools using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install opensaml-tools
How To Uninstall opensaml-tools on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the opensaml-tools package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove opensaml-tools
Uninstall opensaml-tools And Its Dependencies
To uninstall opensaml-tools and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove opensaml-tools
Remove opensaml-tools Configurations and Data
To remove opensaml-tools configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge opensaml-tools
Remove opensaml-tools configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove opensaml-tools configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge opensaml-tools
