How To Install opennlp on Kali Linux

What is opennlp

opennlp is:

The Apache OpenNLP library is a machine learning based toolkit for the processing of natural language text. It supports the most common NLP tasks, such as tokenization, sentence segmentation, part-of-speech tagging, named entity extraction, chunking, parsing, and coreference resolution. These tasks are usually required to build more advanced text processing services. OpenNLP also included maximum entropy and perceptron based machine learning.

This package contains the command line wrapper.

There are three methods to install opennlp on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install opennlp Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install opennlp using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install opennlp

Install opennlp Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install opennlp using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install opennlp

Install opennlp Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install opennlp using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install opennlp

How To Uninstall opennlp on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the opennlp package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove opennlp

Uninstall opennlp And Its Dependencies

To uninstall opennlp and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove opennlp

Remove opennlp Configurations and Data

To remove opennlp configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge opennlp

Remove opennlp configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove opennlp configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
