How To Install openni2-doc on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install openni2-doc on Kali Linux.

What is openni2-doc

openni2-doc is:

OpenNI is a framework for getting data to support ‘Natural Interaction’, i.e. skeleton tracking, gesture tracking, and similar ways of getting data from humans. OpenNI provides the interface for physical devices and for middleware components. The API enables modules to be registered in the OpenNI framework, which then produce sensory data. OpenNI also allows selection of different hardware and middleware modules.

There are three methods to install openni2-doc on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install openni2-doc using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt update

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install openni2-doc using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install openni2-doc
