How To Install openni-doc on Debian 12

In this tutorial we learn how to install openni-doc on Debian 12.
What is openni-doc
openni-doc is:
OpenNI is a framework for getting data to support ‘Natural Interaction’, i.e. skeleton tracking, gesture tracking, and similar ways of getting data from humans. OpenNI provides the interface for physical devices and for middleware components. The API enables modules to be registered in the OpenNI framework, which then produce sensory data. OpenNI also allows selection of different hardware and middleware modules.

There are three methods to install openni-doc on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install openni-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install openni-doc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install openni-doc

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install openni-doc using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install openni-doc
Install openni-doc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install openni-doc using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install openni-doc
How To Uninstall openni-doc on Debian 12
To uninstall only the openni-doc package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove openni-doc
Uninstall openni-doc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall openni-doc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove openni-doc
Remove openni-doc Configurations and Data
To remove openni-doc configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge openni-doc
