How To Install openhpid on Debian 10

on Debian 10.
What is openhpid
openhpid is:
OpenHPI is an implementation of the Service Availability Forum’s Hardware Platform Interface specification. (See http://www.saforum.org) As such, OpenHPI facilitates the development of computer manageability applications which are not tied to a single hardware vendor’s products.
This package contains the OpenHPI daemon. This process gathers information from managed hardware and systems, making this available to OpenHPI-based applications.
There are three methods to install openhpid
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install openhpid Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install openhpid
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install openhpid

Update apt database with apt

sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install openhpid
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install openhpid
Install openhpid Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install openhpid
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install openhpid
How To Uninstall openhpid on Debian 10
To uninstall only the openhpid
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove openhpid
Uninstall openhpid And Its Dependencies
To uninstall openhpid
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove openhpid
Remove openhpid Configurations and Data
To remove openhpid
configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge openhpid
Remove openhpid configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
