How To Install openhpi-plugin-ipmi on Ubuntu 20.04

OpenHPI is an implementation of the Service Availability Forum’s Hardware Platform Interface specification. (See http://www.saforum.org) As such, OpenHPI facilitates the development of computer manageability applications which are not tied to a single hardware vendor’s products.
This package contains a plugin module that accesses hardware information through the OpenIPMI library.
There are three methods to install openhpi-plugin-ipmi on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

After updating apt database, We can install openhpi-plugin-ipmi using apt by running the following command:

Install openhpi-plugin-ipmi Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install openhpi-plugin-ipmi using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install openhpi-plugin-ipmi
How To Uninstall openhpi-plugin-ipmi on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the openhpi-plugin-ipmi package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove openhpi-plugin-ipmi
Uninstall openhpi-plugin-ipmi And Its Dependencies
To uninstall openhpi-plugin-ipmi and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove openhpi-plugin-ipmi
Remove openhpi-plugin-ipmi Configurations and Data
To remove openhpi-plugin-ipmi configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge openhpi-plugin-ipmi
Remove openhpi-plugin-ipmi configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove openhpi-plugin-ipmi configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge openhpi-plugin-ipmi
