How To Install opendnssec-signer on Debian 12

What is opendnssec-signer

OpenDNSSEC is a complete DNSSEC zone signing system which is very easy to use with stability and security in mind. There are a lot of details in signing zone files with DNSSEC and OpenDNSSEC covers most of it.
This package contains the OpenDNSSEC Signer Engine. The task of the signer engine is to schedule signing operation on DNS zones. Taking input from the KASP, it will automatically sign zones and keep their signatures up-to-date.
There are three methods to install opendnssec-signer on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install opendnssec-signer Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install opendnssec-signer using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install opendnssec-signer

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install opendnssec-signer using apt by running the following command:

Install opendnssec-signer Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install opendnssec-signer using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install opendnssec-signer
