How To Install opencv-data on Ubuntu 18.04

What is opencv-data
opencv-data is:
This package contains some architecture independent files useful for development with OpenCV.
The Open Computer Vision Library is a collection of algorithms and sample code for various computer vision problems. The library is compatible with IPL (Intel’s Image Processing Library) and, if available, can use IPP (Intel’s Integrated Performance Primitives) for better performance.
OpenCV provides low level portable data types and operators, and a set of high level functionalities for video acquisition, image processing and analysis, structural analysis, motion analysis and object tracking, object recognition, camera calibration and 3D reconstruction.
There are three methods to install opencv-data
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get

After updating apt database, We can install opencv-data

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install opencv-data
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install opencv-data
How To Uninstall opencv-data on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the opencv-data
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove opencv-data
Uninstall opencv-data And Its Dependencies
To uninstall opencv-data
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove opencv-data
Remove opencv-data Configurations and Data
To remove opencv-data
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge opencv-data
Remove opencv-data configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove opencv-data
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge opencv-data
