How To Install openctm-tools on Ubuntu 18.04

What is openctm-tools
openctm-tools is:
OpenCTM — the Open Compressed Triangle Mesh file format — is a file format, a software library and a tool set for compression of 3D triangle meshes. The geometry is compressed to a fraction of comparable file formats, and the format is easily accessible through a simple, portable API.
This package contains the programs ctmconv and ctmview, used to convert and view OpenCTM files.
There are three methods to install openctm-tools on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install openctm-tools Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install openctm-tools using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install openctm-tools

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install openctm-tools using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install openctm-tools
Install openctm-tools Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install openctm-tools using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install openctm-tools
How To Uninstall openctm-tools on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the openctm-tools package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove openctm-tools
Uninstall openctm-tools And Its Dependencies
To uninstall openctm-tools and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove openctm-tools
Remove openctm-tools Configurations and Data
To remove openctm-tools configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge openctm-tools
Remove openctm-tools configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove openctm-tools configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge openctm-tools
