How To Install opencryptoki-libs on CentOS 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install opencryptoki-libs on CentOS 8.
What is opencryptoki-libs
Opencryptoki implements the PKCS#11 specification v2.11 for a set of cryptographic hardware, such as IBM 4764 and 4765 crypto cards, and the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chip. Opencryptoki also brings a software token implementation that can be used without any cryptographic hardware. This package contains the PKCS#11 library implementation, and requires at least one token implementation (packaged separately) to be fully functional. We can use yum or dnf to install opencryptoki-libs on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install opencryptoki-libs.
Install opencryptoki-libs on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install opencryptoki-libs using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install opencryptoki-libs
Install opencryptoki-libs on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install opencryptoki-libs using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install opencryptoki-libs
How To Uninstall opencryptoki-libs on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the opencryptoki-libs package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove opencryptoki-libs
