In this tutorial we learn how to install openbgpd
on CentOS 7.
What is openbgpd
OpenBGPD is a free implementation of the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Version 4. It allows ordinary machines to be used as routers exchanging routes with other systems speaking the BGP protocol. This is the portable version and it does not have the means to influence kernel routing tables. It is only suitable for route servers/collectors.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install openbgpd
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install openbgpd.
Install openbgpd on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install openbgpd
using yum
by running the following command:

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
