OpenALPR is an open source Automatic License Plate Recognition library written in C++. The library analyzes images and identifies license plates. The output is the text representation of any license plate characters found in the image.

This package contains a command-line program to analyze images for license plates.

There are three methods to install openalpr on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install openalpr Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
