What is ogmrip
ogmrip is:
ogmrip is an application and a set of libraries for ripping and encoding DVD into AVI, OGM MP4 or Matroska files using a wide variety of codecs. It relies on mplayer, mencoder, ogmtools, mkvtoolnix, oggenc, lame and faac to perform its tasks. o transcodes from DVD or files o outputs ogm, avi, mp4 or matroska files o calculates video bitrate for a given filesize o calculates cropping parameters and scaling factors o supports multiple audio and subtitles streams encoding o lots of codecs (vorbis, mp3, pcm, ac3, dts, aac, xvid, lavc, x264, theora) o uses maximum quality codec switches o rips contiguous chapters
There are three methods to install ogmrip on Debian 11. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ogmrip Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ogmrip using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ogmrip
Install ogmrip Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ogmrip using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ogmrip
Install ogmrip Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ogmrip using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ogmrip
How To Uninstall ogmrip on Debian 11
To uninstall only the ogmrip package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ogmrip
Uninstall ogmrip And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ogmrip and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 11, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ogmrip
Remove ogmrip Configurations and Data
To remove ogmrip configuration and data from Debian 11 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ogmrip
Remove ogmrip configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
