What is ogdi

OGDI is the Open Geographic Datastore Interface. OGDI is an application programming interface (API) that uses a standardized access methods to work in conjunction with GIS software packages (the application) and various geospatial data products. OGDI uses a client/server architecture to facilitate the dissemination of geospatial data products over any TCP/IP network, and a driver-oriented approach to facilitate access to several geospatial data products/formats.

We can use yum or dnf to install ogdi on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install ogdi.

Install ogdi on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install ogdi using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install ogdi

Install ogdi on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install ogdi using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install ogdi

How To Uninstall ogdi on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the ogdi package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove ogdi
