How To Install oem-config-gtk on Ubuntu 18.04

What is oem-config-gtk
oem-config-gtk is:
The oem-config script re-asks a number of questions that are normally asked during installation, and reconfigures the system accordingly. This allows a vendor to install a skeleton system, clone it onto a large number of machines, and ship it to end users, while still allowing end users to set up their own username and password, language, timezone, and so on.
This is a GTK+ frontend to oem-config.
There are three methods to install oem-config-gtk on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install oem-config-gtk Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install oem-config-gtk using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install oem-config-gtk
Install oem-config-gtk Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install oem-config-gtk using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install oem-config-gtk
Install oem-config-gtk Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install oem-config-gtk using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install oem-config-gtk
How To Uninstall oem-config-gtk on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the oem-config-gtk package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove oem-config-gtk
Uninstall oem-config-gtk And Its Dependencies
To uninstall oem-config-gtk and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove oem-config-gtk
Remove oem-config-gtk Configurations and Data
To remove oem-config-gtk configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge oem-config-gtk
Remove oem-config-gtk configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove oem-config-gtk configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge oem-config-gtk
