How To Install octave-queueing on Debian 12
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install octave-queueing
on Debian 12.
What is octave-queueing
octave-queueing is:
The queueing package provides functions for queueing networks and Markov chains analysis. This package can be used to compute steady-state performance measures for open, closed and mixed networks with single or multiple job classes. Mean Value Analysis (MVA), convolution, and various bounding techniques are implemented. Furthermore, several transient and steady-state performance measures for Markov chains can be computed, such as state occupancy probabilities, mean time to absorption, time-averaged sojourn times and so forth. Discrete- and continuous-time Markov chains are supported.
This Octave add-on package is part of the Octave-Forge project.
There are three methods to install octave-queueing
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt

Install octave-queueing Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install octave-queueing
using apt
by running the following command:

Install octave-queueing Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install octave-queueing
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install octave-queueing
How To Uninstall octave-queueing on Debian 12
To uninstall only the octave-queueing
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove octave-queueing
Uninstall octave-queueing And Its Dependencies
To uninstall octave-queueing
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
