How To Install octave-mapping on Debian 12

What is octave-mapping

This package contains simple mapping and GIS .shp and raster file functions for Octave, a numerical computation software. It includes functions for computing angular distances and displacements between points on a sphere, as well as the great circle azimuth.
This Octave add-on package is part of the Octave-Forge project.
There are three methods to install octave-mapping on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install octave-mapping Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install octave-mapping using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install octave-mapping

Remove octave-mapping Configurations and Data
To remove octave-mapping configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge octave-mapping
