How To Install octave-io on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install octave-io on Kali Linux.
What is octave-io
octave-io is:
This package provides functions to input/output data in different formats in Octave, a numerical computation software. It contains functions to add variables to existing save files (append_save), read and write matrixes to a text file (dlmwrite, csvread, csvwrite) and read Excel spreadsheet (xlsread) and OpenDocument spreadsheet (odsread).
This Octave add-on package is part of the Octave-Forge project.
There are three methods to install octave-io on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install octave-io Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install octave-io using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install octave-ioInstall octave-io Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install octave-io using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install octave-ioInstall octave-io Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install octave-io using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install octave-ioHow To Uninstall octave-io on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the octave-io package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove octave-ioUninstall octave-io And Its Dependencies
To uninstall octave-io and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove octave-ioRemove octave-io Configurations and Data
To remove octave-io configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge octave-ioRemove octave-io configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove octave-io configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge octave-ioDependencies
