How To Install octave-image on Ubuntu 20.04

This package provides functions for processing images. The package also provides functions for feature extraction, image statistics, spatial and geometric transformations, morphological operations, linear filtering, and much more.
This Octave add-on package is part of the Octave-Forge project.
There are three methods to install octave-image
on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get

and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install octave-image Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install octave-image
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install octave-image

After updating apt database, We can install octave-image

Install octave-image Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude

sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install octave-image
using aptitude

How To Uninstall octave-image on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the octave-image
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove octave-image

and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove octave-image
Remove octave-image Configurations and Data
To remove octave-image
configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge octave-image
Remove octave-image configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge octave-image
