How To Install octave-general on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install octave-general on Kali Linux.
What is octave-general
octave-general is:
This package provides additional general functions for Octave, a numerical computation software. It contains functions to transpose complex matrixes (ctranspose), check if a string is sorted (issorted), take the non-conjugate transpose of a matrix (transpose), and a function to generate a symmetric matrix from the lower triangular elements of a vector (unvech), among others.
This Octave add-on package is part of the Octave-Forge project.
There are three methods to install octave-general on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install octave-general Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install octave-general using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install octave-generalInstall octave-general Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install octave-general using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the octave-general package we can use the following command:

To uninstall octave-general and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove octave-generalRemove octave-general Configurations and Data
To remove octave-general configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge octave-generalRemove octave-general configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
