How To Install octave-doc on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install octave-doc on Kali Linux.
What is octave-doc
octave-doc is:
Octave is a (mostly MATLAB? compatible) high-level language, primarily intended for numerical computations. It provides a convenient command-line interface for solving linear and nonlinear problems numerically.
This package provides the following documentation in HTML, PDF and Info formats:
- the main user manual
- a document on the C++ classes used internally by Octave.
It also includes a reference card in PDF format and in a4, letter and legal paper sizes.
This package is required by the ‘help -i’ command at the Octave command-line and by the help documentation browser in the graphical interface.
There are three methods to install octave-doc on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install octave-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install octave-doc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install octave-docInstall octave-doc Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install octave-doc using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install octave-docInstall octave-doc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install octave-doc using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the octave-doc package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove octave-docUninstall octave-doc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall octave-doc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove octave-docRemove octave-doc Configurations and Data
To remove octave-doc configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge octave-docRemove octave-doc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove octave-doc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge octave-docDependencies
