How To Install octave-doc on Debian 9

What is octave-doc
octave-doc is:
Octave is a (mostly Matlab (R) compatible) high-level language, primarily intended for numerical computations. It provides a convenient command-line interface for solving linear and nonlinear problems numerically.
This package provides the following documentation in PDF format: a reference card in a4, letter and legal formats, a document on the C++ classes used by Octave, as well as the main octave documentation which is also included in info format in the octave-info package.
There are three methods to install octave-doc
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install octave-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install octave-doc
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install octave-doc

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install octave-doc
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install octave-doc
Install octave-doc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install octave-doc
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install octave-doc
How To Uninstall octave-doc on Debian 9
To uninstall only the octave-doc
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove octave-doc
Uninstall octave-doc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall octave-doc
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove octave-doc
Remove octave-doc Configurations and Data
To remove octave-doc
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge octave-doc
Remove octave-doc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove octave-doc
