How To Install octave-database on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install octave-database on Kali Linux.
What is octave-database
octave-database is:
The database package enables accessing SQL databases from Octave, a scientific computation software. Currently, however, this package only supports the PostgreSQL database.
This Octave add-on package is part of the Octave-Forge project.
There are three methods to install octave-database on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install octave-database Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install octave-database using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install octave-databaseInstall octave-database Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install octave-database using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install octave-database using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the octave-database package we can use the following command:

To uninstall octave-database and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove octave-databaseRemove octave-database Configurations and Data
To remove octave-database configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge octave-databaseRemove octave-database configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
