How To Install o-saft on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install o-saft on Kali Linux.

What is o-saft

o-saft is:

O-Saft is an easy to use tool to show information about SSL certificates and tests the SSL connection according to a given list of ciphers and various SSL configurations.

It’s designed to be used by penetration testers, security auditors or server administrators. The idea is to show the important information or the special checks with a simple call of the tool. However, it provides a wide range of options so that it can be used for comprehensive and special checks by experienced people.

There are three methods to install o-saft on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install o-saft Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install o-saft using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install o-saft

Install o-saft Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install o-saft using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install o-saft

Install o-saft Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install o-saft using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install o-saft

How To Uninstall o-saft on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the o-saft package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove o-saft

Uninstall o-saft And Its Dependencies

To uninstall o-saft and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove o-saft

Remove o-saft Configurations and Data

To remove o-saft configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge o-saft

Remove o-saft configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove o-saft configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge o-saft
