How To Install nut-snmp on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install nut-snmp on Kali Linux.
What is nut-snmp
nut-snmp is:
Network UPS Tools (NUT) is a client/server monitoring system that allows computers to share uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and power distribution unit (PDU) hardware. Clients access the hardware through the server, and are notified whenever the power status changes.
This package provides snmp-ups, the SNMP multi-MIB driver for UPS, which supports various MIBs including IETF, MGE, and APC. It adds an SNMP Manager interface to the core NUT system.
There are three methods to install nut-snmp on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install nut-snmp Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install nut-snmp using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install nut-snmpInstall nut-snmp Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install nut-snmp using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install nut-snmpInstall nut-snmp Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install nut-snmp using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install nut-snmpHow To Uninstall nut-snmp on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the nut-snmp package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove nut-snmpUninstall nut-snmp And Its Dependencies
To uninstall nut-snmp and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove nut-snmpRemove nut-snmp Configurations and Data
To remove nut-snmp configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge nut-snmpRemove nut-snmp configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove nut-snmp configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge nut-snmpDependencies
