How To Install nut-server on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install nut-server on Kali Linux.
What is nut-server
nut-server is:
Network UPS Tools (NUT) is a client/server monitoring system that allows computers to share uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and power distribution unit (PDU) hardware. Clients access the hardware through the server, and are notified whenever the power status changes.
This package provides NUT’s core system, and the serial and USB UPS drivers.
There are three methods to install nut-server on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install nut-server Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install nut-server using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install nut-serverInstall nut-server Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install nut-server using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install nut-serverInstall nut-server Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install nut-server using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install nut-serverHow To Uninstall nut-server on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the nut-server package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove nut-serverUninstall nut-server And Its Dependencies
To uninstall nut-server and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove nut-serverRemove nut-server Configurations and Data
To remove nut-server configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge nut-serverRemove nut-server configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove nut-server configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
