How To Install numdiff on Kali Linux

What is numdiff
numdiff is:
Numdiff is a console application that can be used to compare putatively similar files line by line and field by field, ignoring small numeric differences or/and different numeric formats. It is similar diff or wdiff, but it is aware of floating point numbers including complex and multi-precision numbers. Numdiff is useful to compare text files containing numerical fields, when testing or doing quality control in scientific computing or in numerical analysis.
There are three methods to install numdiff on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install numdiff Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install numdiff using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install numdiffInstall numdiff Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install numdiff using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install numdiffInstall numdiff Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install numdiff using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install numdiffHow To Uninstall numdiff on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the numdiff package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove numdiffUninstall numdiff And Its Dependencies
To uninstall numdiff and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove numdiffRemove numdiff Configurations and Data
To remove numdiff configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge numdiffRemove numdiff configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
