How To Install ntsysv on Rocky Linux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install ntsysv
on Rocky Linux 8.
What is ntsysv
Ntsysv provides a simple interface for setting which system services are started or stopped in various runlevels (instead of directly manipulating the numerous symbolic links in /etc/rc.d). Unless you specify a runlevel or runlevels on the command line (see the man page), ntsysv configures the current runlevel (5 if you’re using X).
We can use yum
or dnf
to install ntsysv
on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install ntsysv.
Install ntsysv on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install ntsysv
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install ntsysv
Install ntsysv on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install ntsysv
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install ntsysv
How To Uninstall ntsysv on Rocky Linux 8
To uninstall only the ntsysv
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove ntsysv
