How To Install nsight-compute on Debian 12

What is nsight-compute
nsight-compute is:
NVIDIA Nsight Compute is an interactive kernel profiler for CUDA applications. It provides detailed performance metrics and API debugging via a user interface and command line tool. In addition, its baseline feature allows users to compare results within the tool. Nsight Compute provides a customizable and data-driven user interface and metric collection and can be extended with analysis scripts for post-processing results.
There are three methods to install nsight-compute
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install nsight-compute Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install nsight-compute
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install nsight-compute
Install nsight-compute Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install nsight-compute
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install nsight-compute
Install nsight-compute Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install nsight-compute
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install nsight-compute
How To Uninstall nsight-compute on Debian 12
To uninstall only the nsight-compute
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove nsight-compute
Uninstall nsight-compute And Its Dependencies
To uninstall nsight-compute
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove nsight-compute
Remove nsight-compute Configurations and Data
To remove nsight-compute
configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge nsight-compute
Remove nsight-compute configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
