The Next Scripting Framework (for short: NSF) is an infrastructure for creating object-oriented scripting languages based on Tcl. This package provides two ready-made object-orientated extensions for Tcl based on NSF: Next Scripting Language (NX, pronounced “next”) and Extended Object Tcl version 2 (XOTcl2, pronounced “exotickle”).

There are three methods to install nsf on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install nsf Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install nsf using apt-get by running the following command:

After updating apt database, We can install nsf using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove nsf

Remove nsf Configurations and Data

To remove nsf configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge nsf
