How To Install nova-volume on Debian 10

What is nova-volume
nova-volume is:
OpenStack is a reliable cloud infrastructure. Its mission is to produce the ubiquitous cloud computing platform that will meet the needs of public and private cloud providers regardless of size, by being simple to implement and massively scalable.
OpenStack Compute, codenamed Nova, is a cloud computing fabric controller designed to be modular and easy to extend and adapt. In addition to its “native” OpenStack API, it also supports the Amazon EC2 API, and it supports many different database backends (including SQLite, MySQL, and PostgreSQL), hypervisors (KVM, Xen), and user directory systems (LDAP, SQL).
This metapackage is for the transition from nova-volume to Cinder.
There are three methods to install nova-volume on Debian 10. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install nova-volume Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install nova-volume using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install nova-volume
Install nova-volume Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install nova-volume using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install nova-volume
Install nova-volume Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install nova-volume using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install nova-volume
How To Uninstall nova-volume on Debian 10
To uninstall only the nova-volume package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove nova-volume
Uninstall nova-volume And Its Dependencies
To uninstall nova-volume and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove nova-volume
Remove nova-volume Configurations and Data
To remove nova-volume configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge nova-volume
Remove nova-volume configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove nova-volume configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge nova-volume
